Vacuum Double Drum Dryers
Vacuum Double Drum Dryers are specified when products require uniform low-temperature drying, non-reactive atmosphere drying or complete solvent isolation and recovery drying. These vacuum dryers can be designed for sterile operations and are particularly suited for pharmaceuticals, vitamins, protein extracts, solvent reclamation of widely varying densities and viscosities, food, and fine chemicals.
Product Details
Utilizing thin film drying via conductive heat transfer under vacuum, these dryers can be designed to meet the most stringent sterile operating environments. Vacuum Drum Dryers are highly effective when products must be dried without exposure to high temperatures or reactive atmospheres. Depending upon the application, vacuum dryers can be designed for batch operation, which requires the chamber to be returned to atmospheric pressure to remove the dried product, or continuous operation, which allows dry product to be removed from the chamber while under vacuum by utilizing several unique air-lock systems..
FEATURES & BENEFITS
Vacuum Double Drum Dryer
Due to the hundreds of various types of products and demands of inducing and controlling a vacuum environment, almost all aspects of a drum dryer’s mechanical design, operating components and ancillary support equipment can be customized to meet each individual process design needs. Most Buflovak vacuum double drum dryers are installed on a production-guaranteed basis because the specific process (chemistry) design was tested and then pilot-run in the Buflovak laboratory, which provided reliable scale-up data for correct dryer configuration and drum surface area to meet each individual process design application.
Provide Your Design Requirements
The following chart is an example of the flexible vacuum double drum dryer surface area range to meet your specific dry product production rate. The drum length of any given drum diameter can be adjusted for exact drying surface area requirements to meet and balance upstream (liquid) process and downstream (dry solid) capacity design.
| VDDD Models | Total Drying Surface Area |
|---|---|
| 6×8 VDDD | 2.0 sq ft |
| 12×18 VDDD | 9.4 sq ft |
| 24×24 VDDD | 25.1 sq ft |
| 24×48 VDDD | 50.3 sq ft |
| 32×52 VDDD | 72.6 sq ft |
| 32×72 VDDD | 100.5 sq ft |

Testing & Lab Rentals
Test your materials in one of our world-class pilot scale testing facilities. The Buflovak Research & Test Center located in Tonawanda, NY provides access to multiple dryers, flakers, single and double drum units, and cast iron and chrome plated drums. CPEG’s Innovation Center & Testing Lab in Louisville, KY, provides access to a variety of additional process equipment technologies for multistep processing. Lab rentals are available when it is not feasible to perform testing at one of our facilities.
